Do you Want to Become a DSA Approved Driving Instructor?

If you can answer "yes" to all the questions below......

Do you enjoy working with people?
Have you held a full UK or EU licence for 3.5 years?
Have you less than 6 penalty points on your licence?
Can you read a normal size number plate from 27.5 metres (90 ft)?
Are you free from any offence committed in the last 10 years that might prevent you from becoming a Driving Instructor ie: assault, bank robbery etc?

CRB Checks:

Before you can register with the DSA and apply for the part 1 test, you must apply for the criminal records checks. Below you will find out about the 3 qualifying stages of being an Approved Driving Instructor.....

The part 1 test is a test of your knowledge of the Highway Code, Instructional techniques amongst other things. The theory part of the test consists of 100 multiple choice questions. You must achieve at least 85% to pass the theory test. The hazard perception test contains 14 video clips. You must score 57 points out of 75 to pass the test.

The driving ability test is a test of your driving skills. You will be trained fully for this test. You will be amazed how quickly your driving will improve to the DSA standard.

After passing the part 2 test, forty hours of training will be provided. After the forty hours you can apply for a trainee licence, which lasts for 6 months.
While you are on the trainee licence you can earn and learn at the same time. While on the trainee licence you must complete an additional 20 hours of training. The trainee licence will give you useful experience, which will be a very big help to pass your final test.
